Lini Stevens was born in the Netherlands, spent her childhood in Canada, and in her adult years has lived in the Philadelphia area with her family. As a teen, she was quickly recognized by Canadian artist Jacqueline Roderick and progressed rapidly under her tutelage. She continued to study with her father, Pieter A. Westland, an accomplished artist in his own right. Lini's favorite medium is oil on canvas but she also enjoys drawing in pencil, and pen and ink. Her subjects are portraits, landscapes, and seascapes. Although she has shown her work in Southern Ontario, Northeast United States, many are also in private collections in Holland.
I come from a very creative family and had pencil and paper out since my childhood, drawing everything that interested me. I attempt to create art that stirs my senses and emotions and adherence to detail is my signature.
