Amy Iversen is a contemporary realist oil painter influenced by American and Russian impressionist painters of the 19th and 20th centuries. She seeks to connect viewers through the interplay of color harmonies, light, and the beauty of nature and humankind. For her, the true magic lies in the interpretation of the subject—where paintings invite viewers to add to or complete the story, whether through a connection to a person, place, moment in time, or a pleasing arrangement of colorful objects, flowers, or fruit. She believes the words of poet Jerzy Kosinski say it best: “The principles of true art is not to portray but to evoke.”
Amy was raised in Baltimore County, Maryland, and now lives in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. She holds a BS in Studio Art with a minor in Art History and an MAEd in Museum Studies. In 2017, she earned Master Craftsman status in Enamel Jewelry through the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.
