It’s all about the brushwork.
I find watercolor to be one of the most rewarding—and most challenging—mediums to work in. The unpredictability of water and pigment helps me create dramatic skies, seas, and the textures of real objects. I’m always exploring the wide range of watercolor techniques as I lay down each stroke. The brush, the paint, and the water are my tools, allowing me to build paintings that carry emotion.
Although I don’t entirely understand it myself, my watercolor work is often described as sensitive and emotional. To me, each painting captures a sense of realism in time and place—scenes and subjects that resonate with me and to which I feel a personal connection. With every painting, I’m beginning a story that you, the viewer, can complete.
