Radhika Srinivas draws inspiration for her art from her travels around the world. In her paintings, she aims to transport viewers to a specific time and place, evoking the feeling of being there. Urban landscapes are her specialty, with an emphasis on architectural elements as well as the suggestion of busy city life.
She strives for a very impressionistic and evocative style, providing just enough detail to weave a story for the audience. Each painting begins with sketches, value studies, and color studies derived from her own photographic references or plein air observations, which then guide her to a finished piece. While watercolor is her primary medium, she also experiments with charcoal, often combining it with striking accents in watercolor.
