SANDY ASKEY ADAMS

Native to Pennsylvania, Sandy was born in a small rural town which fostered her love of nature. From an early age, drawing and painting her interpretation and impressions of nature was a natural and essential form of self-expression. The interpretation of nature and its moods continue to be the focus of her work today whether painting with soft pastels, oils, watercolors or acrylics.Soft pastels and oils are her preferred media. Sandy relishes the moments she spends talking walks in nature. Through her art she invites viewers of her work to come along on those forays of serenity and peace... through the tranquil greens of summer, the sweet blossoms of spring, the gold and rusts of autumn and the blue and purplish grays of winter.

She is a national, regional and local award-winning artist.  Her work has been featured in the magazines: “Pastel Journal”, and Southwest Art Magazine; and in books such as “100 Artists of the Mid-Atlantic”, and “Artists Homes and Studios”.  Her artwork was also included in the books “Best of America – Pastel Artists”, and “Best of Worldwide landscape Artists”.  She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America; Signature Member of the Maryland Pastel Society; Associate Member of the American Women Artists; Associate Member of the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and Associate Member of the American Impressionist Society.  In addition, in 2021 her work was exhibited at the Salmagundi Art Club in New York, NY.
