Sandy Askey Adams

Sandy is a Pennsylvania native, born in a small rural town that nurtured her love of nature. From an early age, drawing and painting her interpretations of the natural world became a vital form of self-expression. Her work continues to focus on capturing the moods of nature through soft pastels, oils, watercolors, and acrylics, with soft pastels and oils being her preferred media. Sandy enjoys taking walks in nature and invites viewers to share in the serenity and peace of these experiences, reflected through the colors of the seasons.

She is a nationally, regionally, and locally award-winning artist. Her work has been featured in Pastel Journal and Southwest Art Magazine, as well as in books including 100 Artists of the Mid-Atlantic, Artists Homes and Studios, Best of America – Pastel Artists, and Best of Worldwide Landscape Artists. Sandy is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and the Maryland Pastel Society, and an Associate Member of the American Women Artists, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, and the American Impressionist Society. In 2021, her work was exhibited at the Salmagundi Art Club in New York, NY.
