Life is a balancing act.
I am a better friend, mother, wife, and daughter if I carve out time to nurture myself. Being outside in nature is that time for me. In nature, I am completely in the moment and able to leave the rest of the world behind. When I return, I’m ready to be with people and pick up the “to-do list.” Life is a balancing act. The energy needed to take care of business and others must be balanced with the energy we need to take care of ourselves.
My landscapes are gentle reminders to take time for yourself to do what you love. They recapture moments in nature that took my breath away. Light, color, and texture invite you to stand still, take a deep breath, and savor the moment. Favorite places of inspiration include the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the New Jersey Shore, the Brandywine River Valley, Hudson, New York, and Maine—anywhere that can be seen from my kayak or while hiking.
Pastel is my medium, and I have been working with it for over 30 years. I love the immediacy and vibrant color that pastel provides.
After raising my family and leaving a position in arts administration, I am able to pursue my passion for pastels full time. Now living in Rose Valley, PA with my husband, I paint at Aston Mills Arts in Aston, PA, where I am open by appointment throughout the year.
